There isn't anything magical about memory foams.  All of the properties can be adequately explained to allow customers make a better informed decision on which products best suit their needs.  Below are answers to some frequently asked questions that may help you make a better choice for your needs.

What is memory foam?

According to Merrium-Webster: “memory foam is a dense polyurethane foam that becomes more pliable when in contact with heat.”

Pinnacle' foams are so much more... from relieving pressure points on the body in wheelchairs to shock absorbtion  in airplanes and gliders, you can count on the quality and reliability of EarthMade Memory Foams™

What are the benefits of memory foam?

Memory foam conforms to the body and allows an even distribution of weight alleviating painful points of pressure.  It is also a great impact absorber used in helmets, shoe linings and in racing cars.  It benefits people with orthopedic appliances as a soothing interface betwwen the appliance and the body.  Memory foam is also a very effective noise dampening material.  The applications and benefits are only limited by your imagination.

What is Pinnacle's "Gel-Foam"?

Gel-Foam is an ultra high density polyurethane memory type foam used when seating comfort is essential. This material is used in wheelchair seating, motorcycles, aircraft and office chairs.

We suggest using Gel-Foam as the top layer of our lower density EarthMade Memory Foams™. Cool to the touch and soft as a marshmallow Gel-Foam gives the user an ultimate top layer of comfort.

EarthMade Memory Foams™ Gel-Foam comes in 1/2" 1” and 2” thicknesses.  The 1" and 2" Gel-Foam passes Crib 5 (BS 5852) one of the strictest of all fire tests and CAL 117:2013.  Our 1/2 inch Gel-Foam passes the CAL 117:2013.

EarthMade Memory Foams™ Gel-Foam consists of at least 50% renewable recourses.

Aren't all memory foams the same?

Not all memory foams are equal. They differ a great deal in quality, density, hardness or softness, response to temperature, and also durability and longevity.

Good quality memory foam:

  • Has a higher density (5 lbs per cubic foot or more),

  • Is more durable,

  • Will retain its properties and last longer.

EarthMade Memory Foams™ offers its lower density product in 5 to 6 lbs per cubic foot and the ultra high density in 16 to 28 lbs per cubic foot.  Our memory foams are less susceptable to temperature and have better pressure mapping characteristics when compared to other memory foams on the market.
